Time Flies…

We bought ourselves a digital camcorder at a 2008 Black Friday sale in anticipation of our Peanut being born in early 2009. We planned on taking lots of video of our new baby.

And we did.

What we didn’t do was ever figure out how to use the software that came with it, in order to piece together the videos. Unlike a VHS recorder where you could just stop and start again at your leisure, with digital, each time you stop and start, it creates another file. Thus having a problem of many files for a single occassion…such as Christmas.

So our videos have been sitting on our external hard drive for going on 2.5 years now. We watch them every now and then, but just on the computer.

Dean decided to research and find a new program, freeware or otherwise, that was more user friendly than what we had. He found one, loved it, and paid for it (the trial was only good for like 30 days.)

Last week I thought he was working on syncing up all the files for each occassion, but what he was really doing was making a video for my birthday. Granted, all of the video we take is Miles related, so it’s really a Miles video, but he was the best birthday present I’ve ever received, so it fits. :)

The video ends with Miles and I making pumpkin cupcakes for the “special treat” for him being student of the week that week. Please disregard my squeaky voice and my messy kitchen. This was the end of the week I was plagued with the sickness. (I did wash my hands many, many times and did not touch anything going to the school! I tried to convince the husband to do it with him and I could supervise, but he declined.)

Please note our coordinating John.Deere aprons. :)

LOL! I never realized all the times you told me about Miles wanting to crack the eggs that you meant he literally threw the whole thing in the bowl! That’s priceless!

Love this! What a special gift.

And, I love seeing you guys “in real life”

  5. Amy says:

I agree with Danifred…I loved seeing you guys “in real life”. Miles is so cute…he does the same thing Lexi does. Big cheesy grin and says “CHEESE” whenever we pull out the cameras. If only we could make it to Texas…
