Parties, Books, and Food – OH MY!

Busy this week. Meeting a friend to settle the details of our wine tasting party for lunch, Dean has band tonight, meeting Shannon for sushi on Wednesday, dinner at Nonna and Papaw’s house Thursday, Friday is my day off. Miles and I are meeting Aunt Shay for lunch.  Saturday is his friend Coy’s birthday party. in CROSBY. Gah the drive…

We turned Miles forward facing in the truck this weekend. I was really trying to hold out until April, but his legs are just getting too long. There was hardly any room to reach the seatbelt with his legs and feet everywhere. Or when he stretched his legs, they went up the seat to the headrest and he would always say “stuck” when trying to move around. He looks much more comfortable now!

Miles’ 2nd birthday theme has been selected, the decor has been picked out, and the secret to his birthday cake lies within the pages of this book…. If you’ll notice the frog I did for his 1st birthday is on the cover! I didn’t even HAVE the book when I did it last time. I just used the snippets of notes available from the book preview on Ama.zon. Can’t do that this time because it’s more complicated. Plus I had a Barnes.and.Noble gift card from Christmas burning a hole in my pocket!

I also bought this book. I read the other 2 borrowed from a friend at work and we know someone who’s read the 3rd (on her Kin.dle – Boo) so now we have to get our own copy! It is a great series! Too bad this is the last book….the author died shortly after releasing the books.

I am having the hardest time in deciding what to take to a Super Bowl party. There will be lots of kids, so I want it to be little-kid-finger-friendly, but also yummy….There’s a bazillion ideas out there but I am having some sort of identity crisis in picking one….care for a survey?

  1. 2? Oh my goodness… 2? I just cannot believe it. I cannot wait to see the theme. You are so creative! and my vote on the treat would be the whoopie pie… but I am an aggie! wink! You can NEVER go wrong with Rice Krispie treats – plus you get to lick the bowl! Sounds like a fun weekend!

Also… we turned Liam around in the car seat… were we not supposed to? I mean.. i thought his legs were completely mushed and we are loving the change… but just thought I would get your thoughts.

It’s recommended by the American.Academy.of.Pediatrics (told by my ped) that they are now recommending you keep them rear facing until 2. Their necks still aren’t very strong given that most accidents are from the rear. I will send you a link to a video that will make you switch him back…..

We still have our daughter rear facing….I just feel better about it.

I love that kitten and yarn cake! I wish you were closer so I could have you make it for me. Have fun planning miles birthday!

I’m trying to hold G out until April as well, or longer if she doesn’t seem to care! Glad I’m not the only one
